I'll take a cup

Thanks to Ety's Taste Test, a lovely shop found me.  These scarves are a must have this season(actually, an all-season-must-have!).

I love the warm name of the shop too:  Me and a Cup of Hot Chocolate. Reminds me fall is near!

Not only does this shop have these unique & feminine scarves but also beautiful illustrations:

Spring 2012 Trends with a Vintage Take

Fall & winter draw nigh; while most are focused on warm sweaters and a fabulous red dress for their Holiday parties, I cannot get enough of the Spring 2012 runway!  Bold colors, soft fabrics and brass button accents are a taste of the eye-catching trends that will leave everyone salivating as you pass them on the streets.

The best, and most, intriguing bit of fashion the past few seasons is the eclectic mix of styles ranging from the '40's to Boho(Maxi's!! I hope these stick around for awhile) and the heavily present '60s style.  Thank you, Mad Men! (Side note: where is that show!? Rumor says 2012 is the return.  Let me tell you, AMC, I am getting rather impatient) But I digress.

With new trends pulling from various styles from the past, scoring a high end look while living on a recession budget is easier than ever thanks to the skilled eyes of "Vintagers"(or as most call them, vintage sellers).

Honestly, I was lost for hours gasping and "oooo"-ing the spring lines and selected below are high end designer looks compared to a lower cost vintage alternative.

Semi-sheer maxi from Rag & Bone's 2012 spring line

Vintage 80s Cream Harem Maxi from Wicked Plum Vintage

A lovely minty maxi from the Chloe 2012 Spring Lookbook

Vivien Chiffon Cape Maxi Dress from Thrifted & Modern

Military Style Double Breasted Coat by Chloe 2012 Spring Lookbook

Sheer Blouse by Chloe Spring 2012 Lookbook

Vintage 80s Black Sheer Oversized Blouse from The Kissing Tree Vintage

I hope these examples give you a head start for your Spring wardrobe!  As always, OWN IT!  Be yourself and have fun!

Inspired with a Glance

My shelf of books and collectibles stared me down from across the room; I decided to take some photos since I was in need of break from editing photos and creating listings.

Books, cameras and rusty bits are my favorite collectibles.

Old book bindings ensnare me and cause purchase.  Sometimes I buy a book based merely on the binding's appearance, either because the printed design is appealing or the wear is irresistible.

A little Dalmation pup was one of my first buys from Etsy.  He seems quite at home next to the camera(also from an Etsian)

Old keys and photographs, this one is of my grandmother, are the perfect accents, I think.

What do you have on your shelves and what do you love to collect?

For Schnazzifying Your Bike

I am so in love with Yossi Levin's shop, Nisnas Cycles!  Brand new to Etsy too!

Check out the styling wooden fenders, the Brompron Wooden Fenders (below) are my fav!

These fenders are fabulous as well!  I dont know about you, but these would give your bike the unique-stand-out-from-the-crowd-look we all crave!

Finish off the bike overhaul with bag:

Sunday Delights

I suppose the days when you aren't seeking "that" dress or garment you will happen upon it.  Yesterday was that day for me!  Stopped into on of my favorite shops and happened upon three amazing garments:  an ivory Jack Bryan evening gown, a 1920s blue crepe dress and a 1950s blue linen wiggle dress(not listed yet)!

The Jack Bryan formal gown is tops!  Grecian styling and intricate bead work on a nude mesh fabric around the neck.  I am especially in love the tear-shaped clear beads.

Also located a fanciful little faux pearl clutch, which would compliment the gown above quite well!

This dress floored me when I saw it!  The puff sleeve stuck out from the rack and I knew instantly what it was!  Any dresses from the 1920s had eluded me until yesterday when I stumbled on this beauty.

Wishes & Planning

I'm rather deliberate in most of my decisions and planning and buying clothes is not an exception.  This is my goal to purchase and wear the hell out of this season!

Check these from FP by Jeffery Campbell

Paired with these wide leg trouser jeans by GAP

The shoes & pants are so diverse.  I would wear with a top like this one by Coldfish

And for a hat like this one from BrownandBlack:

All of it is so lust-worthy

Have a great weekend, All!  Stay tuned for more dresses to be listed this weekend.
