Spring 2012 Trends with a Vintage Take

Fall & winter draw nigh; while most are focused on warm sweaters and a fabulous red dress for their Holiday parties, I cannot get enough of the Spring 2012 runway!  Bold colors, soft fabrics and brass button accents are a taste of the eye-catching trends that will leave everyone salivating as you pass them on the streets.

The best, and most, intriguing bit of fashion the past few seasons is the eclectic mix of styles ranging from the '40's to Boho(Maxi's!! I hope these stick around for awhile) and the heavily present '60s style.  Thank you, Mad Men! (Side note: where is that show!? Rumor says 2012 is the return.  Let me tell you, AMC, I am getting rather impatient) But I digress.

With new trends pulling from various styles from the past, scoring a high end look while living on a recession budget is easier than ever thanks to the skilled eyes of "Vintagers"(or as most call them, vintage sellers).

Honestly, I was lost for hours gasping and "oooo"-ing the spring lines and selected below are high end designer looks compared to a lower cost vintage alternative.

Semi-sheer maxi from Rag & Bone's 2012 spring line

Vintage 80s Cream Harem Maxi from Wicked Plum Vintage

A lovely minty maxi from the Chloe 2012 Spring Lookbook

Vivien Chiffon Cape Maxi Dress from Thrifted & Modern

Military Style Double Breasted Coat by Chloe 2012 Spring Lookbook

Sheer Blouse by Chloe Spring 2012 Lookbook

Vintage 80s Black Sheer Oversized Blouse from The Kissing Tree Vintage

I hope these examples give you a head start for your Spring wardrobe!  As always, OWN IT!  Be yourself and have fun!
